The city just got an update from the manufacturer of the structure for this project. Unfortunately, the delivery date of the structure has been delayed until April 22, 2024, which delays the completion of this project until the first week of May 2024. A message from our Public Works Director/City Engineer:
Alta Drive and 10th Street Project
The purpose of this project is to replace collapsed and upgrade the stormwater system along 10th Street from the west side of Alta Drive to the Public Works yard. The stormwater pipe has collapsed and is in need of replacement. Unfortunately, the water main that supplies the city with water is sitting on top of the collapsed stormwater pipe. This will require the manufacturing of a 6-foot x 6-foot concrete conflict box that allows the water main and the stormwater pipe to coexist in the same location. The conflict box needs to be traffic load-bearing, which requires a special concrete mix and a certain time for curing. The hope is to have the box delivered by next week and the project to be completed by the end of April. Please accept the Public Works apology but the city infrastructure requires constant maintenance and this intersection is one of these locations. Thank you for your patience during this time.
