CITY OF HOLLY HILL, FLORIDA

THE MARKET ALTERATIONS PHASE IV

Notice is hereby given that the City of Holly Hill, Florida is accepting bids for THE MARKET ALTERATIONS PHASE IV. Bids will be accepted by the City of Holly Hill, 1065 Ridgewood Avenue, Holly Hill, Florida 32117, until 2:00 p.m. on May 29, 2012, at which time and place all proposals received shall be publicly opened and read aloud in the City Hall.

There will be a MANDATORY pre-bid meeting for this project at 10:00 a.m. on May 8, 2012. Plans and specifications will be distributed to interested bidders at this meeting. Only bidders who attend this meeting will be eligible to receive bid documents. The meeting will be held in the Commission Chambers, located in City Hall, 1065 Ridgewood Avenue, Holly Hill, FL 32117.

Description of Work: This project consists of the interior build out of the shell space North and South wings at The Market, a historic coquina building located at 101 2^nd Street. These spaces are being built out as tenant space to be leased by the City of Holly Hill and include, but are not limited to, insulation, ceilings, separation walls, A/C work, electrical work, interior blinds, bathroom fixtures, and interior finish work.

All questions should be directed in writing only to the Community Services Director: City of Holly Hill, Attn: Jacki Maswary, 1065 Ridgewood Avenue, Holly Hill, FL 32117, Email: jmaswary@hollyhillfl.org. All questions must be received no later than 4:00 pm on May 22, 2012.

The City of Holly Hill is not responsible for the U.S. mail or private carriers or messengers in regards to mail being delivered by the specified time so that a bid can be considered.

No bids received after the time and date specified for the opening will be considered. The City of Holly Hill, Florida reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all non-substantial irregularity in bids reviewed, whenever such rejection or waiver is in the best interest of the City.

Bids shall be addressed to City Clerk, City of Holly Hill, 1065 Ridgewood Avenue, Holly Hill, Florida 32117, in a sealed envelope plainly marked on the outside: “THE MARKET ALTERATIONS PHASE IV”.

Holly Hill- Over the past several months, there has been below-average rainfall. City fire staff is readying for the possibility of brush fires until we get some significant rainfall. As a citizen, your preparedness is equally important.

The Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) range is from 0-800 with 800 being desert like conditions. Our KBDI currently is approximately 620.

According to the Division of Forestry, Florida ranks number two in the nation for the highest number of wildfires. For homeowners, the most vulnerable locations are the roof and the area immediately surrounding the home.

Safety tips during this dry season include:

Do not discard cigarettes from moving vehicles; use ashtrays.
When pulling off the side of the road stay OFF dry grass areas.
Do not operate all-terrain vehicles on dry vegetation areas.
Check lawnmowers and other equipment for properly working spark arresters.
Properly extinguish fires when cooking outdoors and NEVER leave fires unattended.
Practice fire safety with your family. If you see a suspicious fire CALL 911.

If a brush fire threatens:

Listen to the news media or your NOAA Weather Alert radio for Civil Emergency Messages.

The City is NOT allowing any open fires, just cooking of food within an approved gas or charcoal grill.

Chief Barker, my family and I have lived in Holly Hill for 57-years and it is a blessing to know that our Police Department has professionals who really care about the people who live in this town. Today I want to thank you and your team of officers for taking your time and looking further than one side of a story. I would like you to know that Investigator Melton is
