Patrol Commander
Lieutenant Christopher Yates joined the Holly Hill Police Department in November 2004. In 2014, Lieutenant Yates was named the Operations Commander and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Patrol Division, Crime Suppression Unit, Traffic Unit, Animal Control, and Code Enforcement.
During his tenure, Lieutenant Yates has served in the Patrol Division, and Criminal Investigations Division, and has supervised the Patrol Division, Special Response Team, Crime Suppression Unit, Bicycle Patrol Unit, and the Marine Unit. He is a certified Surface Water Rescue Swimmer.
As the supervisor of the Special Response Team and the Crime Suppression Unit, Lieutenant Yates was responsible for the planning, scheduling, and execution of all high-risk search warrants throughout the city.
Lieutenant Yates has served as the Department’s Training Coordinator since 2008. He holds several instructor certifications in General Instruction, Firearms, Defensive Tactics, TASER, Chemical Agent, and Expandable Baton. He is responsible for developing, scheduling, conducting, and recording of all in-house training for both sworn and non-sworn personnel.
In 2010, Lieutenant Yates was named Officer of the Year
