Old FEC Warehouse

FEC Warehouse

One of the city’s largest surviving 1920's buildings stands at 405 6th Street. The FEC constructed the freight house in 1927 in response to the company’s depots and storage buildings that had become clogged with unclaimed building supplies associated with the Florida Land Boom. It is believed that St. Augustine architect Francis A. Hollingsworth designed the FEC’s building, which became a standardized pattern for FEC freight houses in the late-1920's.
