Overview
The Board of Planning and Appeals reviews and makes recommendations to the City Commission regarding all applications for Comprehensive Plan amendments, rezoning, and Land Development Code text changes. The Planning Board conducts public hearings as necessary for the drafting, establishment, and maintenance of the Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code.
It is the responsibility of the Board of Planning and Appeals to make recommendations to the City Commission regarding ordinances, land development regulations, and other proposals promoting orderly development in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan.

There are five members of the Board of Planning and Appeals, appointed at large by the City Commission.
