Sewer bill adjustments are permitted under the City's code for two reasons, Filling of swimming pools and major leaks that do not impact the sewer. If you wish to app;y for a bill adjustent please follow the following instructions:
Swimming pool fill.
- Sewer credits shall be issued for water used to fill swimming pools. Any person wishing to receive credit for filling a pool is required to notify the city and pay a service charge set by resolution by the city commission. Customer has to give written notice to the city at least two business days in advance of the request.
- To be eligible for a sewer credit, the city must read the meter both before and after to determine water used.
- This credit shall be available only once per calendar year per household.
- A credit is not allowed for the continuous refilling of swimming pools while a leak is occurring.
- There shall be a fee for this service as set forth by resolution of the city commission.
Plumbing leaks.
- A customer is eligible for a sewer charge adjustment if the leak is known to have occurred between the meter and customer's property and water loss has not entered into the sewer system.
- The sewer credit shall be based on the customer certifying the water loss has been repaired by either a certified plumber's bill or repair receipt.
- Upon approval of such request an average of six months' sewer consumption shall be used to calculate an adjusted balance.
- A toilet leak or other undetermined water loss does not qualify for a sewer adjustment.
