Original Water Plant

1942 WTP

Holly Hill celebrated Labor Day in 1942  by dedicating its new $75,000 water works with state, county, and neighboring city officials joining in the exercises. This plant was located on the site of the current Sica Hall. The wells supplying this plant were circled around City Hall.

Mayor Alex Littlefield presided as master of ceremonies over the dedication exercises in the new City Hall auditorium which was dedicated at the same time. Seated on the large stage was Dr. A. P. Black, University of Florida water works specialist, consultant in execution of the town’s plant and representative officials of the county, Holly Hill and Daytona Beach.
