The County utilities department owned a tract of land off Alabama Avenue. This popular dog park, which opened in 2002, has small, large, and special needs dog areas, shade trees, benches and drinking water. It was originally a flooded area that was turned into a retention pond (Riviera Oaks Stormwater Park). The park also has restrooms, a picnic pavilion, nature and walking trails, and ample parking. Dogs must be healthy, sociable, current on all vaccinations and license with tags on collar, and under their owner's control at all times. Dogs must be leashed when not in designated off-lead areas.
