Emergency Telecommunications

Our agency’s emergency communications needs are handled by the Volusia County Combined Communications Center. This state-of-the-art facility provides 9-1-1 emergency services and law enforcement dispatch services for our community.

Our officers are dispatched by both 800MHz radio communications and by Mobile Data Terminals in the patrol unit which permit text messaging and secure digital communications, to include the transmission of photographs and other pertinent information required by officers in the field.

The Communications Center is professionally staffed 24-hours a day by FCIC certified Telecommunicators. These specialized civilian employees are expertly trained to provide immediate assistance during crisis situations and have direct access to police, fire, and emergency medical services.

As the first point of contact for citizens in need of police or emergency services, our telecommunicators are dedicated to providing the most efficient and courteous service possible. If you require the services of our agency for routine matters, please contact the Communications Center at 386-248-9475.
